I never found Darlene trashy, but that might be because I have a relative with the name. Sure, it may be a bit dated, but I like lots of dated names. I love Arlene, so Darlene and Marlene are nice, too.

Names like Lurline, Brandine, and Earlene are in a different class altogether.
