Clara
Wdyt about the fn Clara? I typically like more "top ten" names but for some reason started loving this. Any mn ideas that keep it from sounding too old and more trendy?

It's not a fave, but it's been growing on me and I like it better than Claire (which currently seems a little trendy).Could try it w/ 1 of these:Joelle
Janelle
Raeanne
Jasmine
Jolene
Jael
Mayu
Miyuki
Trudene (dunno... something about Clara Trudene feels a little Retro or hipster or something)
Bronwen
Shinobu
Mavelle
Naomi
Faith
Nozomi
Natalie
Solveig (sole-vay)
Rohini (Sri Lankan name)Maybe some Jpns. names could give it some spunk too... due to the manga trends these days being seen as kinda cool. I only put a few in this list though.Clara Myfanwy (miv-an-way) doesn't sound trendy, but it does sound kinda pretty and classy.

Up until even a year ago I liked the sound of this name but it was just too old-lady to me. But lately I am totally loving it, it is seeming more and more modern as I hear of more of them. I have met two little Claras recently in real life (under eight). Beautiful name!

Clara Megan
Clara Hailey/Hayley
Clara Simone
Clara Willow
Clara Heather
Clara Autumn
Clara Summer
Clara Gabrielle
Clara Allison/Alison
Clara Brooke
Clara Bethany
Clara Ivy
Clara Julianne
Clara Juliet/Juliette
Clara Genevieve

Clara EmilyI really like Clara Evelyn and Clara Vivian. Both Evelyn and Vivian are popular at the moment. They have an old-fashioned vibe, but they seem "young" again due to the number of little girls being given those names.

I think Clara is beautiful! It's not "top ten" but it's recognisable - people will know how it's spelt and pronounced. I don't really think it sounds that old - it's reasonably popular (top 200) and I think old fashioned is definitely better than trendy. I think it's much nicer than Lara, Sara and other similar names. How about
Clara Poppy
Clara Madison
Clara Meredith
Clara Bethany
Clara Phoebe
Clara Miriam
Clara Jocelyn
Clara Josephine
Clara May / Maeve
Clara Genevieve

I only like it pronounced CLAHR-ah because it sounds so much prettier and softer. CLER-ah just sounds so unpleasant. But then maybe I'm biased because my best friend is called Clara. I think it's a really beautiful name with a lovely meaning too. It doesn't seem at all dated to me, actually, and "trendy" isn't necessarily a good thing in my book anyway. Clara Helene
Clara Iseult
Clara Isobel
Clara Juliet
Clara Liadan
Clara Liliana
Clara Natalia
Clara Odessa
Clara Ophelia
Clara Ottavia
Clara Priscilla
Clara Ravenna
Clara Rosalind
Clara Selene
Clara Seraphine
Clara Solene
Clara Valerie
Clara Vivian
