Rosalind, Dominique and Asa
Replies
I work with a Dominique
She goes by Dominique.
I don't think it necessarily will be shortened. It's too fun to say. :)

I pronounce Rosalind "ROZ-uh-lind." It has really grown on me over the last few months; I quite like it. I'm not a fan of Dominique, but I adore Minnie and I think it could work as a nickname for Dominique, but it's not an obvious choice.
I pronounce Rosalind RO-za-lind.
I'm not overly fond of Mini/Minnie, but I like Dominique.

Rosalind: For some reason I say ROSE-uh-lind. While for Rosalyn I would say "RAWZ-uh-lin". Strange. But that's how it is. I dislike pretty much every "Rose" name I've ever come across, including Rosalind.
Dominique is okay. I strongly prefer Dominika. Mini is cutesy, if that's what you're going for. I prefer Dom as a nickname.
Asa is a great name. I like Asa Benjamin.

Rosalind -- A gorgeous, underappreciated classic. I say it either, "ROZ-uh-lind" (slowly) or "ROZ-lind" (quickly). (Short "o" as in Oz)
Mini / Minnie is a darling nn for exotic Dominique. Love it.
Asa is one of my puzzles. I love it and I thought it would catch on a lot more than it has. I'm glad to see that you like it as well. My favorite combos:
Asa Nathaniel
Asa Daniel
Asa Malachi
Asa Patrick
Asa Dominic (obviously not with a sibling Dominique)
Asa Morgan
Asa Bartholomew
Asa Theodore
Asa Phineas
Asa Joachim
Asa Melchior
Asa Kendrick
Asa Roderick
Asa Jordan
Asa William
Asa Jerusalem
Asa Jericho
Asa Michael
Asa Nicodemus
Asa Dylan
Asa Matthew
Asa Roland
:-)

I really like Rosalind. I pronounce it ROZ-ә-lind, with a short o like cot, not a long o like Rose.
I detest Dominique, but if I liked it, I would use Nika (NEE-ka) as a nn. Minnie/Mini is too sweet and young for Dominique.
I like Asa, too. Perhaps a solid, sturdy mn is best: Asa Richard, Asa Theodore, Asa Joseph.

Oh I really like Nika too! Hadn't even thought of that.
I like Rosalind. ROZ-uh-lind. It seems 1940s styled to me, in a good way.
I love Dominique. I agree with New Chloe and guru that it seems intense, unbalanced, and 90s, and to me those are good things. I think Minnie is an okay nickname. I'd probably prefer Niki.
I don't care for Asa much. It's much like Enoch, Amos, Micah and Ezra to me - sort of fusty and throwback. Those old -a and -ah Bible names that have been rare in my experience until recently, now seem deliberately stylishly "soft" on the ear, bearing the flourish of the uh ending, and that's not really my style. I like more clipped and chunky guy names. However since Asa contains the sound of the word ace, I guess it is butch enough for me to not think it's too "pretty" sounding for a man. heheh

I really like Rosalind, the other two are nice but don't really do much for me. I can't get over the idea that a Dominique would be really intense and unbalanced. I don't know where I got that notion from but I just can't kick it. Mini as a nn for it, I'm not sure if that makes it better or worse, I could also see a "Minnie" being intense and unbalaned (thanks to Rosemary's Baby).
I say Roslind like "ROZ-lind".
I think Asa would look nice with a really calm middle name that is kind of conventional, like Asa Benjamin, Asa Thomas, or Asa Jonathan.
