Sorcha?
DH is set on Sorcha for baby #3. With an Anglicized pronunciation or "SORE-sha" rather than the Irish "SUR-ka". The things that bother me about it are that people might pronounce it "SORE-cha"... DH suggested changing the spelling to Sorsha or Sorscha but then I feel like it looks like a made-up name, and that it won't be associated with the meaning of Sorcha (which is "radiant"). I like the meaning and the (Anglicized) sound of it, and I like that it goes with our son's name Ronan. For middle names I have thought of Sorcha Helena, Sorcha Kathleen, Sorcha Reagan.I really wanted Aurora to be the middle name but Sorcha Aurora For-lastname has too many "or's" in it, do you agree? Please respond with your thoughts, thank you!

The first thing I thought of was Willow the movie when I saw the way you want to pron it. I also again thought of Willow when I saw the name combo even though the baby was Elora many people think it was Aurora. I do really like the name pron Sore-sha and I think it makes a good sib set name :)

I guess this sounds harsh, but since you seem serious you may as well get my opinion as a data point ... SOR-sha doesn't sound to me like an Anglicized pronunciation. It sounds like an American mispronunciation. There's a hard K sound in the name and if you miss it, that just seems incorrect to me. SORK-ha is not that hard to say for Americans. IMO. I met a little girl (her mom obviously from Ireland) one day at a park who was called Sorcha, and it was natural and close-enough for me to say it as, roughly, SORK-ha. And it would have come out "Sorka" if I was talking in a hurry.Whatever, though - people would get used to it pronounced the way you want it, and there are tons of people named with offbeat pronunciations and it's not like it ruins their lives. I would not alter the original spelling though. At least get the spelling reasonably authentic, if the name is supposed to be Sorcha and not a made up name.I think Sorcha Kathleen is a really lovely combo. I don't think Aurora sounds very good with Sorcha, but I also don't think it really matters if first and middle names don't sound good together, as long as they don't sound really outrageous. Even Sorcha Aurora For--- isn't bad. Sorcha For--- sounds kind of neat actually.

I like Sorcha and I love Sorcha and Ronan as a sibset!
I prefer SOR-ka for an anglicized prn. but I guess SOR-sha works too (but I might prefer SOR-cha, because then it doesn't remind me so much or Saoirse). ANyway, I don't like any other spellings. Sorsha and Sorscha look awkward and misspelled to me!
I like Sorcha Helena best! And Sorcha Kathleen is good too. I'd like Sorcha Regan (although I don't like Reagan with the a for some reason).
Sorcha Aurora is too rhymey, but I wouldn't mind Sorcha Aurore. I love the "or" sound, and I don't think you can have too many "or"s :P Although having two names with an "or" sound does make the combo a little singsongy.

I like Sorcha "SORE-sha". I don't think there's anything wrong with using the Anlicized pronounciation, it's prettier to me than "SUR-ka" or "SOR-ka" (these make me think of circa, like circa 19th century). I do think most people will say "SORE-cha" on the first try but it's an easy correction. A friend of mine is named Charla "Sharla" and it's always a quick fix when people say it wrong the first time. And I think it goes wonderfully with Ronan!Unfortunately I'm not a huge fan of any of your middle names but Sorcha Helena is the one I would choose if I had to. Sorcha Aurora For- definitely has too many "or" sounds in it.

Why would you pronounced it SOR-sha? SOR-ka makes more sense in English, although you're right that more people will probably try to say SOR-cha first. Sorcha is pretty how it is, and it's not strange looking and the pronunciation isn't weird or hard to remember once you've corrected someone. Definitely keep it how it is. I like Sorcha Kathleen.

I would keep the original spelling and pronunciation, but use it as a mn. Sorcha Kathleen could work just as well if it was Kathleen Sorcha; and Helena Sorcha (I'd prefer Helen Sorcha) would be fine too. I'm not a fan of Aurora or of Reagan.

I love Sorcha, but only with the original prn. Sore-sha does nothing for me. And I really don't like Sorsha or Sorscha. The first is better than the second. If you want the Sore-sha prn. I'd go with Sorsha.Ronan & Sorsha Kathleen or Sorsha Helene (prefer Helene)Sorsha Reagan doesn't flow.Sorsha Aurora has way too many repeating sounds.
