LAR-a-mee. Like the town in Wyoming. I think it's a cowboy name, trend-wise. Was watching a 2011 film--the Tree of Life--that features 3 young boys that look as if they're between 9-12. The real life names of the young actors were Hunter, Laramie, and Tye. Laramie is a surname from my childhood growing up in a Franco-American neighborhood, but I'm pretty sure the parents of the young actor were thinking of it as a place name. It struck me that sn's used as fn's are almost always english/waspish/celtic, particularly those being borrowed for girls. Kids are not generally being named Fernandez or Aponte or Larue.
