I think they are lovely as siblings. They suit each other very well and I like the balance between them. Both one syllable, both five letters, both calm and unsassuming and intelligent sounding. I'd use them as first names.
And by "if you cannot stand either one", do you mean, as people, or the names? If I can't stand the people I'm not going to honour them. But if I didn't like the names, I'd probably pick a Mary or Margaret deriviative because there are sooo many of those!
Molly or Polly, Mamie, Maisie, Daisy, Rita, Pearl, Peggy, Marjorie, Marian, Miriam...
Like I might do Marian Eliza & Daisy Irene (I do like Irene).
