I think it's cute, although maybe a bit too cutesey! I think it will fit in well here in the UK, because nicknames are so popular here at the mo.
The only problem I have with it is the word "bonny". So when I hear (for example) Bonnie Jane, I think of Bonnie as more as an adjective, like if she was called Pretty Jane or Lovely Jane or Funny Jane.
