My personal problem with Simon, and Cyrus, is that they both start with a sigh! And since the first syllable is the natural nn, that seems depressing to me.
Same issue with Megan, when it's pronounced with a long e. Me, me, me. Not good.
That said, Simon Erasmus is a fine combo. If not Simon, what about Peter?
