Charmian
Wdyto Charmian for a girl? I pronounce it with a hard "K" -> Kahr-mee-an (which is traditionally correct, like Chloe and Charis. Might cause some confusion though.)
Combos ...
Charmian Diana
Charmian Harper
Charmian Helena
Charmian Laurel
Charmian Louisa
Charmian Mara
Charmian Sophia
Other suggestions welcome :-)

I like Charmian. I remember reading it on a different names board a long time ago and thinking it was weird, but I like it now. :) I agree with Array about it being feminine without being frilly. I didn't think of the toilet paper though.
I like Charmian Louisa best. How about -
Charmian June
Charmian Aisling
Charmian Jess
I'll get me coat.

Charmian is really beautiful--very feminine without being oh-la-la frilly. The similarity to Charmin could always be worse; she could be named LaTrina, right? Charmian is one of those names that's so nice that I'd use it and hope for the best.
Charmian Laurel sounds best of the ones you've listed, I think. How about Charmian Liesl? (Kidding--that'd be cheesey beyond belief, I know.) In a similarly cheesey vein, I really rather like Ella Charmian, despite Ella's trendiness. Charmian Carr played an Ella in Sondheim's Evening Primrose, a televised musical that was aired only once.
I'm not sure what else would sound nice with Charmian. It's a bit hard to place, for me.

I've seen the needle and the damage done
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie's like a settin' sun.

The first thing that comes to mind is the actress who played Liesl in 'Sound of Music', then a greek goddess, even if it isn't so. Charmian Diana is lovely. (Diana is actually a great name, why haven't I seen that before?...)
Suggestions:
Charmian Lena
Charmian Jane
Charmian Heloise
Charmian Minerva
Charmian Olympia
Charmian Pelagia
Charmian Nike
Charmian Romy
Charmian Honora
Charmian Iole
Charmian July
Charmian Linnet
Charmian Eliza
Charmian Adair
Charmian Susanna

It seems like it will be mispronounced quite a bit. I would imagine that most people would say either SHAR-mee-an or CHAR-mee-an. Both of those pronunciations remind me of Charmin (the toilet paper brand). Kahr-mee-an is kind of nice but I'm not sure about it. It sounds a bit masculine to me. Carmel seems more feminine to me. I really like Laurel, Helena, and Mara. Sophia is pretty as a middle name. It's gotten way too popular as a first name.
We have Charmin too (unfortunately!) ... m
I was hoping, since the pronunciation is different, people wouldn't make the connection. But I'm sure that's wishful thinking ;-)

If it was only spoken, and never written,
People wouldn't.
