I think it's trendy. The sounds - the ad like Addison, the adl like Adelyn, the ley like a bazillion other names. And I have the same sort of image of it as Dracotorix - mean rich girl. So it's nms.

My cousin's daughter is Hadley. That was the first I'd ever heard it so I've always associated it with her - and super adorable little girl.

It doesn't fit in with most of the names I like, but I do actually like it. I wouldn't use it, but it's one of the few "trendy" sounding names that I have no issues with.

Bah! Sorry, I don't like it on a girl at all. As a feminine name it seems so infantile, much like Hayley and Chloe. I was completely surprised to learn that it was so popular as a girls' name in the USA because I couldn't imagine it; I had to do a double take when I heard it used on a young girl at the market. Its popularity for girls has increased rapidly over the past ten years, and I can see it breaking the top fifty. So it's not trashy but definitely trendy.

I think it's down-to-earth and quite sweet on a boy, however. I also think it would age better as a male name. It's not something I would use myself but I find it pleasant enough. And it makes me think of Hadley Fraser, who has a lovely voice.

I don't like it. It doesn't make me think of the word 'head', but I think it's too trendy (and the Hadley I know is basically a typical "mean rich girl"; not a good association...)

This isn't a style of name that usually appeals to me, but I do like Hadley. I think it's that D in the middle; it adds a little punch to a name that is otherwise very just another surnamey ends-in-LEE name. It's a trendy name, for sure, and it's definitely becoming more common. I know I've seen it IRL, and when I check the SSA, I see it's jumped from 921 to 216 in ten years. I think it will keep climbing, probably well into the Top 100 since it's a good substitute for the tired Haley/Hayley, and then it will probably fall, so I think it will end up dated as a name for this generation. Besides its resemblance to Haley, Bailey and other similar names, I think there's also a minor character in the Sookie Stackhouse vampire series (don't know if she made it into True Blood or not) who has probably given the name extra exposure.

I think it is a bit trendy and also it sounds more like a boys name to me (similar to Harley, Harvey, Bradley...).

I think Hadley for a boy kind of sits right on the line between "trendy" and "retro-cute" (meaning it could grow on me), but for a girl it just seems trendy to me. Not trashy, but it just feels way to masculine to be a girl's name.

Sorry but I've never been able to see any appeal in it. It seems too trendy, harsh, and not pretty or feminine at all. Though it doesn't seem masculine either. It's just there and I don't find it attractive at all. Though it doesn't remind me of head, I don't know any, and while it may be more common than a few years ago I don't think it is really too common, yet.

I think it's kind of neat. It has a silver-screen-iness to it. It doesn't remind me of "head...," it's not "Hedley." :) Although it does make me think of Hedy, which could account for the old-time-movie vibe. And also that it makes me think of Blazing Saddles. Heehee.

It's soooo against my usually style but yes it's really been growing on me too, for a girl. It screams Trendy but i can't help liking it, not enough to ever use but still.
