I've had a similar experience with it. I used to think it sounded too weak and soft, but then I started seeing some strength in it, but it still has a gentleness to it. And then I also started associating it with a winery near me that has some significance to me, called St. Julian's. So that gives it a big plus and I love the purpley wine-y association.I prefer Julian. Julien reminds me too much of julienne, as in the way to cut vegetables.
