Sapphira?
What does everybody think of this name? Pronounced sa-FEER-uh. How would you picture a person with this name? Any concerns about using it on a real baby? We would use the nickname Saffy.
Thank you!

Sapphira is beautiful and would be fine for a real person, but people might pronounce it sa-FIE-ra on a frequent basis because it looks like the word "sapphire." Safira seems more likely to render the pronunciation you'd like.

I like it! I like Sapphira, Saphira, and Safira. Probably mostly Sapphira though.
It seems princessy (as well as dragon-y) but I can picture it on a 'regular' person as well. I like the nn's Saffy, Sapphy, and maybe Sappho. I say, use it! I'd love to meet a Sapphira, or a Saffy whose full name is Sapphira.

Never heard it prn'd safeeruh... Sounds kinda weird that way to me. I'm used to it being prn'd saf-eye-ruh. Aside from the woman in Acts who lied and then died, it's prob'ly ok and not everyone will know that reference. Saffy's a rather unattractive nn to go w/ an otherwise nice-sounding name though.

I personally think it sounds sort of stuckup and cold.
I think Sapphire would be better, more down to earth.
I don't like Saffy either; sounds sort of contrived and phoney. Fifi would be more natural (and actually usable IMO, for most real girls who aren't utter princesses).

I love it but I like sa-FYE-ruh better.

I agree on the pronunciation with number1212, but it's very beautiful. Good job. It wouldn't be weird on a real baby, I know Diamond's, and it's not weird. I don't see Sapphira being weird.
