It's interesting. My brain tends to classify it among the names an American would call "stuck-up stereotypical British names" :P
I've never met any, so when I see it I think SY-ril and then have to correct myself ("no, SEER-il").
I like Kiril. Kira's on my 'would use' list for girls...
In general I prefer Cyrus (and Cerdic, which gives me a similar vibe for some reason) but I wouldn't be dissapointed if I saw someone named Cyril (mainly because I've never met one before).

Cyrus is great too. I'm always torn whether or not the nn Cy is better for a Cyrus or a Cyril. Cerdic is new to me, thanks! Neat.
