Given that most people take Beatrice as having 'beata' (Latin for blessed or happy) as its origin, putting 'triste' (French for sad) on the end looks like a clear case of bipolar syndrome. I cannot for the life of me get my head around it, and I speak as the daughter of one Beatrice and the mother of another! What a travesty of a good name.
