Edith's not bad at all. I used to think of Edith, Esther, Edna, and Ethel as the "old lady E's." Edna and Ethel are still firmly in that camp, but since naming trends have changed and I've heard of kids with these names (and someone my age named Esther), I've come to think of Edith and Esther as usable. I really like Edie as a nn. Edith Guinevere is a gorgeous combo!

All your other names are rather nice (I'd spell Felecity as Felicity, though), but I really love Fiona.

I like Edith quite a bit, and I love Edie as a nickname. Five-to-ten years ago, I thought Edith was too All in the Family, too old lady, and too risky to use on a real child. I think it's completely acceptable now and really very charming. I was amused when I saw Despicable Me and saw that the creators had given the three girls names you could find in any hipster neighborhood: Margo, Edith, and Agnes.

Edith Guinevere is a little too "apples and oranges" for me. Guinevere's over-the-top mythological beauty queen vibe makes Edith feel more dowdy by comparison. I'd prefer the similar, but slightly more grounded, Edith Gwendolen.

I likt Edith. I used to think it was an old lady name, then I played Edith in Pirates of Penzance and not I like it :P I wouldn't use it myself though.

I think Edith is very sweet and I LOVE Edie! I most definitely think it would be acceptable to use Edith these days, not a problem. You could pretty much guarantee they'd be the only child in the class with that name, which is not a bad thing imo. Edith Guinevere is a gorgeous combo. Felicity, Elodie, Elsa, Zipporah, Eloise, Stella, Gwendolyn (prefer this spelling) and Elizabeth are all lovely too.

I actually love the name Edith! I would totally use it. It reminds me of La Vie en Rose. I have a classmate named Edith nn Edie, and I've always admired her name.

I love the name Edith Guinevere. I wish people Edith was use more. I like Edie as a first name, not just as a nickname. I'm not sure how someone would tease s girl named Edith. Sorry about all the M names. I don't know what that's about.

I totally would have named my daughter Edith if my husband had not said he wasn't comfy with it. He said it was "too much of a statement." I'm not sure what that meant, but that's what he said. I think it just sounds sort of hipster? because it's so old-ladyish, but it isn't so unfashionable sounding or loaded with bad associations, I don't think, that it'd be hard to bear. I've met a young Olive and a young Eudora, and even a Delphine, and I think those are more of whatever kind of statement Edith is. And, I think they are fine.

Don't think I'd ever inflict it on a child... though it's not as bad as Ethel... nn of Edie is ok.
