Alice is my choice, as it's definitely my fave from the list. Sounds good with Lara too.

I love Alison the most, Claire is gorgeous, Charlotte and Alice are nice but boring/plain to me.

I love Alice, it's gorgeous. It goes well with Lara, too. It makes me think of Alice in Wonderland which I love.

I used to dislike Alison but it has grown on me. Now I rather like it. I think it's underused at the moment and pretty.

Have to admit I like Charlotte best of these, but with its current popularity along with the popularity of Claire and Alice higher than before, I'd consider Alison a good choice since it's not overused these days.

I don't like Alison in general, Claire doesn't sound like it would go with your last name, and I don't like Alice paired with Lara. Charlotte is my pick regardless of the popularity.

Ooh, tough one. Alison, Claire, and Charlotte are all such good names. Claire is about as popular as Charlotte, just on a slower curve up. Both those are totally not-too-popular classics, never really totally out of style, but Charlotte seems trendier. Alice is on a steep curve up, and was much more common for longer in the past. I still think of it as dated and dowdy, and I don't like it, but Charlotte and Claire never even seemed dated that way for me. Alison will probably seem the most like it's too old for her when she is grown, and that's the only reason I'd be inclined to strike it off. So I'm voting for Charlotte, second place to Claire.

Alison - independent, softspoken, least likely of any of them to seem stuckup.
Charlotte - reserved, feminine
Claire - it reminds me of the word flair so there's that. Tidy too, maybe clipped.

I've been thinking about it lately and even though every Alison I've known but one of them has been a mean bully I don't necessarily think of bullies when I hear the name. When I picture an Alison / Allison I think of someone with strawberry blonde hair or red hair or red-brown hair with freckles and brown or hazel or dark blue eyes. She would be naturally fair but since she is super sporty and tomboyish she is fairly tan during the summer. She would love to play volley ball and soccer and she would train in martial arts. She could be a bully or a spunky fireball who beats up bullies. She'd have a lot of friends, but is not necessarily popular. She would speak her opinions with out curbing her tongue. She would be passionate but because of her passion she'd have a strong temper. She'd have to learn to control her anger or else get into a lot of trouble.

Alice is more feminine than Alison. It brings to mind someone who has a classic style that is feminine without being frilly. Alice also makes me think of someone who is a little more quiet and calm and often likes to read and write. Charlotte has a similar feel as Alice. Though I see Charlotte as being a tiny bit more frilly and a little more sporty.

Claire reminds me of someone who is kind of like Alice and Alison. Feminine but not frilly and also a bit sporty and tomboyish.

Right now I currently like all of these names. They all go well with Lara. Lara has a very similar feel to me as Charlotte. Slightly frilly but also someone who is a bit sporty.

I agree that's there's too many matchy R sounds going on in Lara and Charlotte and Lara and Claire. I don't like Alison, so Alice it is! It's a lovely name.

If I had to use some kind of reasoning to whittle the list down this is how it would go. First I'd cross off Charlotte because the repeated "ahr" sounds of Lara and Charlotte annoy my ears. Alison would go next because it doesn't have the same sweetness for me as Alice*. Alice has so many more associations for my brain to play with. Lara and Claire have too much "r" sounds going on.

* Disclosure: Alice Mary was my grandmother's name. So I'm biased. But I still think of Alice in Wonderland so there are other sweet associations for me as well.

I like Lara & Charlotte. Lara & Alison is okay, but I think I prefer Lara & Alice because Alice is short, like Lara. Lara & Claire is good too.
Usually I would say Claire is my least favorite of these names, but I actually like the way Claire goes with Lara better than the others. I like Charlotte, but it's so much longer than Lara that I'm sort of hesitant to say that I like it in this sibset.
If it were me, I'd probably go with Alice.

Other ideas could be Cora, Coral, Cleo, Charis, Caris, or Calla. Chloe would be great for Lara if only it weren't popular! Or on the A side, Alyse or Aline?
