Re: Margaret?
Why, I'm glad you asked. :) Margaret has been my favorite name since I was about 14, and we've been planning on using it for our first daughter for at least 4 years now. It just sounds so beautiful and it's musical and jewelly to say. It's primarily a nice solid, domestic name, my favorite kind, but I can picture it on any sort of girl. I think it can sound athletic, professional, quirky, anything, really.I love it by itself, but would use a nickname at least at home. I'm never sure which my favorite is, and I don't dwell on it because in my experience you need to meet the kid before deciding on what nickname fits them best (or full name, for that matter!). But my favorites are Gretchen, Mamie, Margo, Mae, and Meg.Margaret itself is my favorite, closely followed by Mairéad. I love Mererid, too, and also like Marguerite.
