Opinions of Errol?
Do you think it sounds strong?
middle name will be family surname, Gray, so full name would be
Errol Gray Morten

Swoon
Errol is soooo handsome and dashing and charming. I think Gray goes well with it. It gives me a neat Edwardian vibe. I do think it sounds too close to Earl Gray (which I notice someone must've mentioned below), but hey, I like Earl Gray, so it's not a bad association really. Actually it kind of makes it even cooler. :)

My immediate thought would be that it was a nickname, given to him because he was a Harry Potter owl fan--or that his parents were Harry Potter owl fans. While sensitive, if I eventually befriended him, I would poke jokes about him being old and feeble and unable to travel long distances (like the owl named Errol).
I find it both dated and undistinguished. I've never met or known an Errol who amounted to anything admirable.
It looks better with two L's imo. Erroll.
My first thought was the owl from Harry Potter and the second was my cousin's ex-boyfriend's brother Errol who thought his name was stupid and went by his middle name.
I picture swashbuckling Errol Flynn, so it sounds strong to me. Adventurous, too.
Errol Gray is too close to Earl Grey for me. Others might not make the same association, though; it's my favorite tea, and I'm out, so it's on my mind.
eta: No, I see I'm not the only one. That sort of kills the combo for me, unfortunately.

Earl Grey
Yes, Errol Flynn is who I thought of also. Never thought of Earl Grey though everyone else here has. Yes, probably won't work. Haven't brought this one up to my husband yet. I wonder if he'll think of it. He's always thinking of things to kill my names.

ditto and ditto
I love that combo. It is really great. It is a very strong sounding name. I think you have a winner. ^_^
Also the name makes me think of Earl Grey tea but no one would tease him. Most people would probably never know his mn. Also Earl Grey tea is delicious so it isn't a bad association and only some people would make the association even if they knew his mn.

Sounds kind of like Earl, so the combo seems a bit off, since Earl Grey is a kind of tea. Gray Errol Morton doesn't sound awful, though...
And you may get funny looks from Harry Potter fans. Errol was the old carrier owl who got disoriented quite frequently.

Makes me think of Zelda's line from Errol saying "I am Error".
???
Completely over my head...

It's a video game meme that isn't exactly common knowledge.
Don't worry about.

Haha! I would've thought the same thing if I hadn't seen your post first. That used to confuse the heck out of me in Zelda II... at first I thought there was something wrong with the game :P
