I'm starting to really like this name, despite starting with Hippo- (it's /hip OL it a/). The Spanish form is Ipólita /ee POL ee ta/, which I don't like as much, but at least doesn't start with "hippo"! What do you think? She could always use the nn Polly, which I adore...

Me too! I've loved the name Hippolyta ever since I read A Midsummer Night's Dream! I would never use it because of the "hippo" part, but I still think it's super pretty. Ipolita is interesting. I think it's cute, actually, but I don't like it as much as I like Hippolyta.
