I think it looks great, but it just sounds too girly for me - too close to Flora or Florrie.

I quite like Florian. My dh would have a stinking fit if I wanted to use it, so consider yourself lucky!!

Could be trouble as a fn; however, I know a Matthew Florian who loves the distinctive qualities of his mn.

I like Florian! It's slightly flamboyant, I think, because it reminds me of Flora/flowers/etc, and I think it's a bit of a romantic name--something that a handsome prince would be named in a fairy tale. I don't know if I'd use it myself, but I'd be very happy to see it used more often! If you like it I say go for it.

I love Florian! It's stately and artistic.

I really like Florian but I pronounce it floor-ee-an.
