I always thought it was like Chase too (or Ace with a J or the first part of Jason).
Since a lot of C names get replaced with a K (Kameron, Konnor, Khloe, etc), I think that is what the parents were trying to accomplish. I don't think it works though and is going to cause a lot of confusion as Jace is getting more popular.

I would pronounce it like Chase as well. I've never heard it pronounced like Jake, and it doesn't make a lot of sense to spell it differently because everyone is just going to pronounce it "wrong" all the time.

I pronounce this as Jay-s, like the beginning of Jason.

Pronouncing it like Jake seems....super weird.

Ehhh...Jace pronounced like Jake does not look right to me at all. It doesn't even make sense to me. A c and a e next to each other does not make a "ka" sound. When an e is following it, the letter c is interchangable with the letter s, not k. I pronounce Jace like Chase.

Err well, in English, Jace pronounced as Jake doesn't make any sense. At all. When a "c" comes before an "e", it becomes soft (ex. cell, face, lace, place etc.).

I suppose Jake could also be a nickname for Jace, even if Jace itself was pronounced like Chase. But that's just a random possibility.
