I like Ava a lot better. I don't like EE-va much either, I'd like Eva as EH-va. So almost like Ava just with an EH sound, I heard some people from Eastern Europe pronounce it like that.
I'd stick with Eva and explain to people how it is pronounced. Evva looks weird and it's hard to tell a difference between Evva and Ewa. I like Evvy as a nickname for Evan (girl) but would probably just spell it Evie or Evy and pronounce it EH-vee. I have a friend named Evan.
