Kirk
It just came to mind and I think it's kind of cool. Opinions? Do you know anyone named this?

I love Kirk, it is masculine, classic feeling and under used. Dirk is also a cool name as well. Cool is definitely the feeling I get from Kirk and Dirk. They both give off strong coolitude vibes.
:p Sorry I'm a geeky gamer girl and coolitude is a fun word we like to use. I just couldn't help myself.
I've met maybe two Kirk's before and one Dirk.

My swimming coach was named Kirk. He was Australian so that's who I picture when I hear the name, but hey, an extremely tall, tanned, muscle-y Aussie isn't a bad association for me. ;)
....Kirk is also what my Granny calls churches. She goes to 'the Kirk' on a Sunday.

Wow... I've never seen a couch swim... and an imported one from Aus. at that... how fascinating... jk... am sure you meant coach... and that's not a bad association at all.
Oops! Thanks for bringing that to my attention! :)
A swimming couch would be impressive. ;)

I've always really disliked it (and Kurt, which often sounds basically the same and feels so similar they're like the same thing to me). It's just an unnattractive syllable. I do like that it's a word for church though. I went to school with 2-3 Kirks and have known 1-2 older ones too.

Strange Kurt and Kirk as so different feeling to me. Kurt makes me think of the word curt, as in abrupt or rude or it makes me think of Kurt Cobain. Kirk makes me think of Kirkland or Captain Kirk or the name Dirk. Kirk feels Scottish to me and Kurt feels German.

I like it, it's sharp. I had a neighbor named Kirk (a real estate agent, about 45) but it doesn't seem terribly dated to me.
