I really like Maia, and I definitely prefer it to Maya.
I'm only personally acquainted with one Maia (who goes by Spritz), though I know of one or two others.
I actually really like Maia Wren Luisa, though I'm not especially fond of Wren. I love the cadence of the combination.
I pronounce Maia "MY-uh," and I strongly prefer that pronunciation to "MAY-uh."
