I used to like it alot, but it's kind of like a dull knife now... just doesn't cut it for me anymore.

Not a fan, but I don't dislike it. I much prefer the names Winter or Autumn.I always picture a blond tan cheerleader, but she doesn't feel ditzy to me. I just think of a peppy popular blonde tan teenager who loves the summmer. Someone who's very physically active and fashionable.

I do mainly because of association (good friend w/ that name some years ago).
Otherwise I'd prob'ly be neutral on it. Summer and Autumn work nicely as names. Winter's a stretch... Fall and Spring should prob'ly be left out of the naming process... Though names from other languages with the same meaning can work.

Love love love. Goes so well with our surname, and my other daughters' names, it would have been our third daughter's name, if Gideon had been a girl.

All season names seem odd to me, partly I suppose because of living in the Southern hemisphere, so a local person could be legitimately named Winter in July or Summer in December - I've never seen a local season name, but no doubt there are some. And it would be amusing if they moved to the Northern part of the planet. Briefly amusing, and tedious for a long time.I'm not keen on word names in general, and nature names seem to carry more baggage than most. Storm; Brook; Ocean. But I do enjoy Vivaldi, so little Summer would come with a delightful theme tune.

Yes I do like the name Summer. To me it sounds happy and friendly, which is a good thing.

I like Summer a lot. Actually, I like all the "season" names, including Spring and Season.

No, not really. I like Autumn better.

Not much of a fan... There's something not quite right to me.

I really, really like it... for a boy. I don't like it for a girl at all. Odd. I know.

Yes, I like it. But I don't like it enough to personally use it. Only as a middle name, perhaps.

I like it a lot- it is bright and bubbly and very pretty. It isn't a name I'd consider using myself but I'd like to meet a Summer.

Ehh, it's alright. Summer is a nice name, but not a name I would paticularly choose.

I like it, but it makes me think of someone who is a free spirit and a bit of a hippy. For some reason I can't imagine someone with a professional career, like a laywer, being called Summer. It's very girly and not a "strong" name.

By sound and how it looks I like it thought I find it totally cheesy and uncreative to be named Summer if you were born in Summer and ridiculous to name a kid Summer if she wasn't born in Summer so if it wasn't a season I'd really like it.

I never used to (word names aren't my thing at all), but it grew on me since seeing "500 Days of Summer". I'd still never use it, but it's nice to see around.

I do like Summer, always have. I like Autumn as well. I just think they're both pretty names that seem very feminine and sweet to me. I don't buy into the not-using-them-because-they're-tacky thing.

It's ok, but a bit...flimsy for my taste. As season names go, I prefer Autumn and Winter.

For a girl, I'm kind of indifferent to it. It's a nice name, it gives me a nice feeling but I also think it's a bit snooty.
Summer as a middle name for a boy is a huge GP of mine. I much prefer it as a middle name for a boy than as a first name for a girl.

I quite like it. I like the imagery which comes with Summer, and it definitely sounds like a girls' name. The only thing I don't like about it is the was it looks when written down, the "er" part looks wrong to me and there's jsut something about it which is wrong...Overall I like the name but I wouldnt use it myself

I do like it. I don't know why, really. I knew a Summer who was nice, and I think the word and its meaning are "namey" enough (positive, dignified; elegant in the sense of simplicity plus significance). It doesn't seem hippie/pagan to me like Sunshine and Rainbow, but it does sound appealingly modern and suggestive of nature-reverence.

I like it. Spunky, and it brings to mind lots of pleasent memories and feelings from my favourite season. Sunshine, sand, the beach, trips to Italy, Portugal, Greece, no school, ice creams, swimming, daytime naps, cooler evenings outside, grass...all of that.

I love the name Summer! Not only is it fun to say, but it evokes so many images of warm, sunny days and sand between my toes. It's a beautiful name, imo.
