I much prefer the tidier-looking Michele, and I have a French friend who uses that spelling. With a double-L it looks like goal posts. But the sound is always pretty.
It's ok as a middle name.
I had a best friend once whose name was Michelle. I don't really like it though. It reminds me of Michelin tires.

I really don't like it. It's one of THE most dated sounding names to me. I love Micheline though. Which is actually quite dated in France I think

Well, it's my name. I really like it and it's served me well in life. I think it's a lovely name and would sound refreshing if used on a baby these days.
