I've always like Liberty but felt it was more of an american name. Libby is cute.~Lisa~

I prefer Libby but Liberty is an ok name. Libby works as a nickname for Liberty, but I would just go with Libby as the full name.

I agree. Libby is sweet, but not sickeningly so whereas Liberty is cutesy in a 'Precious' kind of way. Plus, while the sentiment is nice, I think the intention is misplaced by politcal undertones. A bit much for a baby in any case. I especially like Libby as a nickname for Elizabeth.

I adore Libby, but as NN for Elisabeth.
Liberty is not a good name to me, too much.

I'd consider Liberty as a virtue name, it's alright but I don't know if it's one I'd ever use. I like Libby as a nickname for Elizabeth, and where I live it's pretty common I know three or four Libbys. I wouldn't use it as a fullname just as a nickname.Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The truth is, I have met the right person, only he's not in love with me, and until I stop loving him no-one else stands a chance

I love Liberty, but I do see how it could be construed as tacky. It needs paired with a very classy mn. Libby is a cute nickname. I also like it for Elisabeth (though I'd never use Elisabeth - too common)._____________________________________________________________________Elinor"I couldn't imagine somebody like Osama bin Laden understanding the joy of Hanukkah."

I agree, Liberty is pretty but does sound a bit tacky. Libby is ok but I think it sounds too nicknamey by itself.
