Heliodora or Theodosia?
and why? thanks!

Definitely Theodosia. It sounds more formal, feminine, and graceful.
You know my answer...
Heliodora!
Heliodora!
Theodosia.
I love them both! :)
I'd never heard of Heliodora before. It is an awesome name. I prefer Theodosia just barely more than Heliodora. I guess it's because H names are not my favorite. That's one of the best H names for a girl that I've heard. Oddly the only other H names for girls that I like are plant names like Hazel, Heather and Hyacinth. Harriett / Harrietta are okay, so is Henrietta. But I not a huge H name fan.

Heliodora. Easier to figure out and I can't pronounce Theodosia. Theodosia is pretty though. I guess if I could say it I might have picked it.
Theodosia. It sounds more like a name to me.
Heliodora sounds vaguely like a solar-powered device, as in "The whole house is heliodoric. We're completely off the power grid!"
At any rate, I prefer theo- over helio-.

Theodosia. I'm not big on Heliodora, it's a bit too out there for me. Theodosia is lovely:)
I like Heliodora more just because I dislike female names that begin with "THEO", and I like the meaning, too. It's also a little bt more phonetic, i think. and i like named with 'helio' and 'dora' in them :). what about theodora? that's nice, too.
I prefer Theodosia, which I find just lovely. Heliodora is interesting, but it sounds better suited for a character. I could imagine it being the name of a superhero in a comic book. Also, the Helio- part makes it sound scientific (I automatically think of the word "heliocentric"). I like science quite a bit, so that's not a bad thing per se. Theodosia just sounds better for a real person than Heliodora does. With that said, I would still be happy to meet a little girl named Heliodora.
