Diana & Jack
as a sibset. What do you think? I really like them, they have a sort of offbeat unconcerned charm about them, but I'm not sure if together they evoke the John Mellencamp song too much.

First thing I thought of...
... was the John Mellencamp song. So yes, I think the association is too strong - even if it is Diana instead of Diane.

Very 1920s or 1930s vibe. Diana, a few notches higher on the social scale than the suave and alluringly crooked Jack. It ends in tears. Could be a brief encounter in a Betjeman poem.
But I'm afraid the song wins out.

I think they sound lovely together. I did not immediately think of the song, and it took me a minute to figure out what song you were referencing, so I don't think it's that big of a problem, especially as people who know that song grow older.
My dog is named Jack and if we get a girl dog, I want her name to be Diane. (Or Rose, like Jack & Rose from Titanic).
Yeah, I think it is a little too similar to the song. Although both were pretty common names so I wouldn't think it odd on an older sibset, like if they are in their 40's or older.

You know, the song is the first thing I thought of. (Although I believe it's Diane, rather than Diana, in the song.)
But that's ok. That song won't live forever, and there are many now who won't remember it. (I've got a good memory for songs.)
A good sib-set.

Sorry. The John Mellencamp song is all I can think of.
Since I sang "Little ditty about Jack and Diane..." as soon as I saw your post title, I really think they are too Mellancamp to use together.
Of the two, I prefer John, nn Jack. If John is not an option, then I prefer Diana, but I really find it charmless and awkward compared to Diane. It's weird; I usually prefer variants that end in -a, but Diane is so smooth, strong, and svelte, I have to make an exception.

"Here's a little diddy......." And now I have that song stuck in my head.
It's an nice enough sibset as long as you don't mind everyone who's heard that song referencing it upon meeting them

I think they're fine together. I just wouldn't go there due to the song. It's the first thing that came to mind.
Jack & Diane!
For the record I was going to make that the subject heading before I read your message and saw you referenced it already. That immediately came to mind, but I wouldn't necessarily avoid it because of that. It's a good song.
I like Jack and Diana together better than Jack and Diane. It does have a sort of freshness about it, and offbeat and unconcerned totally. I like it!

I love that song. :)
Same here.
It comes to mind immediately for me as well, but I don't think you should let that deter you. :)

They go together nicely. I've never met a little girl named Diana, but I'd like to. I don't think the sibset is too John Mellencamp. Both names are familiar enough that they conjure up plenty of other associations as well.
