To be honest, with the Austin spelling I didn't even think of Jane Austen...I don't see Shawn as a feminine form, either. I think a phonetic spelling of a "foreign" name just doesn't count as "feminisation" for me. Shawna? Yes, of course. But Shawn? Nah, not really. I still find it weird that my book claims it's a female name...
