Dinah
I have come around to Dinah. When I was younger I appreciated Dinah, and considered the combo Dinah Blythe to be very stylish. Then I went through a period where I disliked Dinah, though I am not sure why. Now I have returned to liking Dinah Blythe, and consider Dinah an underused gem. I am not sure why the hiatus. I never much hear of Dinah being mentioned here. I was wondering if anyone else had incorporated Dinah into any workable, tasteful combos. Opinions?
Is "Dinah won't you blow" too much for a girl to bear?

Dinah won't you blow.....
When I saw the title of the post, it was the first thing I thought of. The 2nd thing is like someone from Boston saying "diner": " I wint to the dinah wit Chah-lee" aka "I went to the diner with Charlie"
However, if you are not weird like me, you probably don't even think of these things!!

I actually thought of those two exact things...the song is now stuck in my head :)
haha! that's pretty great! (that i'm not the only one, that is)
Dinahs don't blow where I live! So that wouldn't be an issue at all.
I like it very much; I had a great-great aunt Dinah back in the middle of the 19th century, and she flickers through the records, sometimes appearing as Dinah and at other times as Diana - but it's always her, all right. That suggests to me that there might be a possibility of confusion, especially in today's world when Diane, Dianne, Dina and Deanna are also in the mix.
I had an old tabby cat that we named Alice (Alice the Alley Cat), and when we got a new kitten I named it Dinah in honour of Alice in Wonderland's cat. Eight years later, Dinah is still going strong and her name gets compliments, even from unexpected humans.
For a human, Dinah Lucy, Dinah Louise, Dinah Margaret, Dinah Suzanne, Dinah Helen and Dinah Clare would all work for me.

I like Dinah. It's actually one of the first names I added to my PNL on here. Despite the associations- "Dinah won't you blow" and the word "diner" with an accent, I think it's nice. However, were I considering it for a real child, it would probably be nixed because of those associations, particularly the first. And because I like similar names, like Diana, better.
Oh...I think of the "someone's in the kitchen with Dinah" line first. But "Dinah won't you blow" is pretty bad, not unusable though.
I think it is ok but I find Diana so much prettier. Dinah just feels really old as the only one I have heard of is Dinah Shore.

It looks like I'm in the minority, but I feel like the Dinah jokes and jingles would get old pretty quick. I don't know, I think I'd avoid it. Then again, maybe a few little Dinahs is all we need to lose the association. That'd be nice.
I like Dinah. Dinah Blythe is not my favorite combo because the two 'IE' sounds so close together put me off but it's not bad.
I'm not in a great combo mood right now but Dinah Magdalene and Dinah Helena came to mind first.
ETA: I just noticed that Magdalene wouldn't help that "Dina won't you blow" thing at all. Is that like a song?

I mention Dinah occasionally in the manner of "Why don't people like Dinah?" Because it certainly seems like a name that would be popular, in real life as well as here. Not sure what people have against it. "I've Been Working on the Railroad" is the only thing I can imagine stops people. But hey, I'd like to have a folk song with my name in it!
I think Dinah has a very sweet simpleness to it. I like pairing it with Puritan-y thing. I always liked Dinah Grace, as unexciting as it is. I'd also like something like Dinah Prudence or Dinah Pleasance. Or Dinah Hopestill, ooh, that's neat.
I also have combos Charlotte Dinah and Columbine Dinah.

I agree that Dinah is an underused gem. She's so much better than Dana, which I see as quite masculine. Dinah Blythe is lovely, by the way.

Dinah is on my positive side of okay, probably because it sounds like someone with my dad's accent attempting to say the word 'diner'. But, I don't know if any of these middle names will be in your appeal, but I'll try to make some combos (btw I do really like Blythe paired with this name.)
