I adore Flannery. It reminds me of Flannery O'Connor, an author whose work I admire. It also sounds happy and dignified to me.Joy is a decent name, but I find Flannery more interesting. Joy would be refreshing on a child born these days, though.

I don't like Flannery, it just sounds unpleasant. Joy is tainted by a girl I knew in junior high. I do like it as a middle name, though.

I kind of like Flannery (just for a girl) and I am neutral to Joy.

I'm not sure about Flannery, to some extent it reminds be of flattery, but it's kind of a cool name. It also makes me think of Flannery O'Connor which is a nice association (she's a Southern author from the 50s and 60s though much of her work was published later)Joy is very beautiful. It's simple sweet and happy, fits great as a mn but I would LOVE to see people looking at it as a first name.

Flannery is an old favorite of mine, I'll always like that name. Joy I have bad associations, but it isn't bad otherwise.
