Scheherazade is pretty, but not my favourite version of the name and I don't know if it's really useable either. For one thing the spelling is too complicated. I think most people will know the story, and assume it's after the character. There are loads of different versions of Scheherazade in different languages: Shéhérazade, Xerezade (so cool), Szeherezada, Şeherezada, Şehrazad, Shahrazada. And of course Shahrazad / Shahrzad. I actually like them all a lot but having so many different spellings and pronunciations can be really confusing, and even in English there are multiple versions. Also, Scheherazade has this gauzy, ethereal quality which would not suit an actual person. Shahrazad is totally usable though, and lovely.

Oh and from wikipedia: Scheherazade has a sister called Dunyazad?! I like it.
