Re: Favorite French Names
in reply to a message by Gigi
I always really likedEtienne
Zephyrine
Jules
Bellamy
Solange
Simone
Océane
Lisette
Philomene
Lucienne
Haidée
and some names I have in a baby name book that I'm not sure are really French names (but which I like regardless):Zoélie
LouisianneAnd Alizée, a name I "made up" when I was 15 or so, I just took it from the French-English dictionary (it means "a trade wind"). I didn't know about the drink Alizé then.

ZoélieOh my goodness. Completely, utterly adorable. And perfect for someone who wants to use Zoe/Zoey/etc as a nickname but can't find a good full name for it

I always forget I like Lucienne. Solange is nice too, in fact they all are.
Alizée is used as a name in France, although it's fairly recent, and mostly because of a singer. (The really mainstream, super-cheesy kind, with lots of auto-tune and smexy dancing. She is on youtube but I'll spare you the link)
