Callum yes. Cale yes. Caedmon yes. Caelum...hmm...maybe. KAY-lum or KAI-lum? Either way it doesn't scream masculine to me.

It's OK but I think Callum is much nicer. I say Caelum "kay-lum" and it sounds a bit trendy to me, perhaps even a bit feminine.

Hmmm, not a fan I'm afraid. It reminds me of caecum - a part of the large intestine. I don't mind Callum though.

The Latin word for "heaven?"Not bad, though I admit at first glance I thought it was a body part. But then I remembered my (very basic) Latin education...How are you pronouncing it? In Latin, I believe it would be said similar to "KY-lum." I like that sound, but even if that's what you're going for, I think people would be more inclined to pronouncing it "KAY-lum," which doesn't strike my fancy, personally.

Latin pronunciationAt least according to my biology Latin, I think it would be pronounced see-lum, and possibly in ecclesiastical Latin, chee-lum.Not too pretty.

Hmm, not sure about thatI was taught... I think it was Classical Latin? ... and there the letter C is hard. Not sure about ecclesiastical Latin, though. I think the ae diphthong makes the "ai" (as in aisle) sound, but I did just have a mild panic attack trying to remember. Oh lord, why did I ever quit you, Latin...

I did some research on the pronunciation after I posted this thread, and I found that it's pronounced SEE-lum. At least, that's how the constellation is pronounced. Doesn't really appeal to me as much now, haha.

I've never heard of Caelum before. I love Calum and Caedmon ("CAD-mun") though. Could you provide more information, or even a link, for Caelum? Thanks.
