I would use Archibald but only as a way to get the nickname Archie. I think a child called Archibald would be strange - it just sounds like such a grown up name!

I'm not sure how I feel about that. Mostly because I'm not sure how I feel about Archibald. It's sort of so awkward and stereotypical-British that I like it. So trying to imagine it on a baby makes it seem like an awesome and fun idea, but also a bit pretentious. But mostly awesome and fun.
