Celes
CelesFound this version of Celeste on another name site today. I think I like it. *It's attractive *Easier to pronounce *Removes that -molest- thingWDYT?
EDITED TO ADD: I am pronouncing it like Celeste but without the T sound on the end. Wonder if others would pronounce it differently?

I'd pronounce it sell-EES, which actually sounds quite nice.
I like how it looks, as well. It's not a bad name~

OK, I wouldn't have even thought of Celeste=Molest... but now that you mention it.. I think that it's effected me YIKES! Celes isn't appealing to me at all though...

I was thinking I was going to see this name on BtN soon. Sure enough, it appears. I prefer Celeste.

It's from my favorite video game! (ETA)Final Fantasy III. I like the look and sound better than Celeste, and I also like the FFIII link. Even though she wasn't my favorite character, but she's alright.ETA: I've always pronounced it SEL-is. But I guess your way could be right, too. FFIII is a SNES game, so they don't exactly speak in it!

I have never played that game, but it is interesting about the character. Oh well, seems like it wouldn't be as straight forward to pronounce as I thought.

I like it, but I would say SEE-les.

Aw, poor Celeste. I hadn't even thought of the molest thing. I just think of that Babar the Elephant show. Celes looks weird to me. I wouldn't have a clue how to pronounce it. Could be your way, but I could think of about 4 others. Not such a fan, sorry.

Hmm, my impulse is to pronounce it like SELL-es. I find Celeste easier to pronounce and far prettier. The "molest" thing doesn't bother me at all. I think there's a good chance that sell-ES would be frequently misheard as Celeste anyway.

I don't think it's easier to pronounce. Is it like Celeste without the te? "Sell-EZ"? or is it like Ceres, "sell-EEZ"? or "SELLIS" maybe?I don't mind it for the video game reference, though.Poor Celeste, she doesn't mean to molest people, she's just a close talker.

Yes..Celeste without the T sound. I just added the pronunciation to my post. I can see now that maybe it is not easier to pronounce LOL

Reminds me of celoso- jealous or zealous. Or the last name Selas- tennis player Monica Seles, who was stabbed in a match by a fan of a different player so the other one would be number one (or something like that. It was in the 90's).
