Fleur
What do you think about the name Fleur?

I like it a lot, and its one-syllableness. I like Fflur too, but not as much.

I know it's wrong... but I know that's how it'll be pronounced over and over, it'll be ruined.

DELACOUR!~
But, all Harry Potter associations aside, I never liked this name much. It's pretty on paper, but the sound isn't all that nice. But maybe that's because I'm not pronouncing it with the French accent I don't have. Meh...

It has a nice meaning, but it sounds a little snooty and posh.
I live in Cajun country, so to me this is a flower!
I get the appeal in the look and sound, and I would maybe consider it as a mn, but not as a first name around here.

I don't think it sounds remotely appealing.

I grew up with a mother who had seen the original "Forsyte Saga" series in the 1960's. She loved the character of Fleur so much. And when that actress appeared in other BBC productions I was sure to hear, "Fleur!"
So I have very fond memories of the name. Plus, I find it beautiful and snappy at the same time, not an easy combination of attributes.
My stock combos for her are Fleur Dulcinea ("dul-si-NAY-uh") and Fleur Isibeal ("ISH-bayl").

I think it's gorgeous, especially for a middle.
