I read this a few hours back and I've mulling it over. I really like the nn Jess, and Jessie, for that matter, but I've never really liked Jessica. But for some reason, I really like Annika, which is basically very similar--soft vowel on the first syllable, same cadence. But, my taste in names is being tamed somewhat by hanging out on this message board. Names like Jessica that are classic and recognizable are really growing on me among the sea of obscure, trendy, or just plain weird, names.
