I'm the same. I love Kahlan, hate KAY-lin! I mean reall, there are tons of annoying little girls and teenagers running around named Kaylin and Cailin and Kaylynn... an awesome Confessor does not need that name. I defy Goodkind and pronounce it KAH-lan, sometimes with a bit of phlegm for the h.

The name looks nice but I dislike the author's pronunciation. I would like it better if it were pronounced as it looks to me -- KAHW-len.

We've been watching the television series on Netflix, and I was so disappointed that her name is pronounced Kay-lyn. She would have been a cool character to name a child after!

I would say this "cah-lan" (short A sound). It makes me think of the liquor Kahlua.

While I'm a fan of the series and the character, I'm not a fan of the name. It's a different spelling of a common name (Kaylin and other versions), so nobody will ever spell it correctly, nor will they ever be able to pronounce it on sight unless they're familiar with the books.
