Selma
What kind of woman/girl do you imagine when you hear the name Selma and what is your opinion of the name? What middle name would you give Selma?
Oh, this name-choosing is much more stressful than I remember it being... maybe I should just get someone from here to do it for me:)

I knew a Selma once who was a very competent artist and very outdoorsy - loved climbing mountains, going for long walks across country, always with a sketch pad. I like it!Selma Louise

It's a very "brown" name for me - humble, quiet, friendly, domestic, polite, mousy. I think it would be adorable on a little girl. I defintely think of it in the same vein as Elsa, Maisie and Eugenie. It's a sweet, simple name, homemade and lumpy. It reminds me a lot of Alma, but even more homey and low-key. I'd combo it likeSelma Frances

Funny, today is Selma's nameday in Sweden. I think of Selma Lagerlöf (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selma_Lagerl%C3%B6f), which is a good association, I like it. :)

Alabama! The name makes me think of freedom marches in 1962.

I think of a dark-haired, mysterious, and serious woman. That might be because Selma reminds me of the middle-eastern name, Salma. Have you considered Salma, by chance?

...Bouvier.I picture a heavyest, middle-aged woman with blue hair and a raspy smoker's voice, thanks to 'The Simpsons.'
