Why use a French spelling if you're not going to pronounce it the French way?

Frederick - unless you live somewhere French-speaking.
I should prefer Frederic in deference to Mr. Chopin. (OT: If you like costume dramas / romances, I recommend "Impromptu" starring Hugh Grant and Judy Davis. It will make you fall in love with his music if you already haven't.) But Frederic looks so incomplete to my eyes. Frederick looks more balanced.
I hope Frederick / Frederic makes a comeback. he's so serious, yet his nn Freddie is so cute.

I like Frederick. It's more classic, more manly. To me, anyway.
