What do you think of Astor for a girl? I know it's actually a boys name but it sounds very feminine to me, because there's a make up brand called Margaret Astor and there's also a Brooke Astor.
I heard it on the show Dexter but because of a bad synchronization I assumed it was Esther.
Opinions?

I'm going to go against the grain here and say I like Astor more for a girl than a boy. Though, I do quite like it on both genders. And I don't see how changing the "O" to and "E" makes it all that more feminine.

I prefer Aster for a girl. It's a pretty botanical name that I wouldn't mind seeing more often.
Astor doesn't bother me all that much as a girl's name, but I think it's better for males. The -or part gives it a more masculine appearance.

It would depend on the accent of the person speaking, but they'd probably sound pretty much the same to me, too.

I like Astor for a boy only, although I do like Aster for a girl (like the flower).

I prefer the spelling Aster, it's more feminine. I do like the sound of the name though.

I prefer Aster for a girl, for the flower. Astor looks a bit too surnamey for me. Aster is a bit gentler and prettier in my opinion.
