Bad twin names
Just saw a BA for identical twin boys named Harry Anton Jack and Henry Alan Hartmut, parents are Silke and Peter. And they were born in the UK, so the parents really can't say that they didn't know it's the same name, considering Prince Henry/Harry and all. Hopefully, one will go by his middle name.

I agree that that's pretty bad. However, I don't think you can say that they wouldn't know about Harry and Henry being the same just because they're from England. Everyone just calls him Prince Harry so some people might not know that it's short for Henry - not everyone is obsessed with the Royals.

I like those names but I don't like twin names that have the same initials.

Yikes, lol. That's inexcusable for British parents. I love that Harry is a nickname for Henry, btw. I love both of those names.

I don't really see why it's worse for British parents than anyone else. Prince Harry is just called Prince Harry - people never call him Prince Henry, so people might not know that Harry is short for Henry. I do think it's strange that they didn't know that the names are related, but I don't see why it's so much worse just because they're English!

It's worse because they should know the given names of their own royal family. Especially because William and Harry are so very popular. I mean, it's not like an anti-British remark, it's just that people who aren't British might not know that because it's not relevant to them.

You know I don't really mind matching twin names when the parents just happen to love two names of a similar sound that just couldn't be pulled off in the same sib set unless the children were twins, like Josephine and Geraldine, or names that begin with the O or Z, because they aren't too common...I don't even mind names with similar meanings like Khalilah and Anisa. You can get away with things that match in a twin set. But using (basically) the same name for both kids... yeah, that sucks.

So many people think twins need matching names. Friends of mine have twins named Caroline and Elizabeth, (Carrie and Lizzy), people have commented that their names don't match, like it's a bad thing. I've knowntwins named Sean and Dean and Michael and Michelle. I went to school with a girl who desperately wanted to have twins named Tiffany and Brittany. What are people thinking?? Twins shouldn't be matching sets.
