I've finally gotten over my "Milan is a city in Italy, not a man's name" prejudice. It's so handsome as a boy's name. Bozena is intriguing. I haven't gone to the links yet, but I'm guessing it's from the same root word as Bogdan, i.e., Bog / God. I'm also guessing it's pronounced "BO-zheh-nah." Is that correct? I like it. :-)"Mehmed / Mehmet the Great" came up once and it stuck in my head. It reminds me of the name Cathal (silent "t"). Ending a syllable with an "h" sound is so unexpected. Groovy. Good to see they all lived long lives.

Božena does have the same root as Bogdan (one of changes in Croatian is that g+e=ž, so Bog+ena=Božena) and your pronunciation is correct:-)
