I think I would like Leni except that I know two men with that name (spelled differently) and so I just see it as a guy's name. I do think if you use Valencia you need a nickname though, it's too frilly to use on it's own so Leni's fine I guess. I am happy they didn't choose Val as a nn.
I don't know why they chose Ann, I think it may be the mother's middle name.
