Do you go by a nickname?
Do you like it / hate it?
If you do hate it, would you rather go by youre given name or another nickname?

I go by Anna, I think it's ok
No nickname for me. As a very little girl I was called Mimi or Rosie (as in Nosy Rosie), and every once in awhile someone tries to call me James, but in general, I'm just Jaime. I wouldn't mind being "Jay," but too many people I know have names that begin with J and it would get confusing.

My given name is Victoria but I absolutely hate anybody to call me Vici/Vicky! Usually I go by the nickname Toia cause that's the one my twinsister invented and I definitely prefere it. Actually they only call me by my full name when they shout after me or when they are angry with me. *lol*

My given name is Andrea and I go by Andie. It's nothing special, but I like it and I feel it suits me. Although often, especially in more professional situations, I do go by Andrea

Between the ages of 14 and 16 I insisted on being called Chris by every new acquaintance, so my old school friends from one of my 3 high schools all call me Chris, and some later friends, after I went back to Christine, have 'caught' the Chris thing as well. And I have a silly nickname, 'Tinnie', which is part of a set of nicknames with friends and never gets used in ordinary conversation. Otherwise I have no nicknames. I prefer Christine to Chris these days but don't really mind.

Well, my name is Cassie but its not short for anything (Cassandra, Cassidy etc), I don't hate my name but I always get people asking is it short for something and I always have to explain. I like nn in general but if I was picking a name for my child I'd probably prefer a name that you couldn't shorted (thats why I pick Hayley, the only nn you get with that is Hayles which I never call her anyway)

Not so much now as an adult, I nearly always get called Katrina. Growing up though my family and close family friends never called me Katrina, it was always Trina or Trine or even Triney (yuck). I feel to old for Trina/Trine now but my Grandfather still always calls me that. I get Kat a bit now by friends and workmates which is ok but I much prefer the full version of my name.
I only use Cristy on message boards, but IRL most people call me Cristina and I much prefer my full name. I'm not a fan of nn's but Cristy isn't too bad. I really dislike Cris or Crissy. :)
Occasionally I go by the nn Andy, but I SO prefer my given name, Andrew.

I'm usually Elisabeth, no NN.
My mum says Lissie sometimes, and one friend uses Elli ( Ellie? It's never been spelled out). Some people from school call me Eli (more like...long E than Elli) because I wrote that at the end of an sms to a girl in my class when I was too lazy to write my whole name. She either thought I go by that, or just adopted it, not sure which, I just let her, I don't care.
A Canadian friend of mine asked why I don't have a NN, and if he could call me Libby. I said I would love that because it's my favourite for Elisabeth. If I moved to an English speaking country again I would probably try to get people to call me Libby. It hasn't caught on here though, and he is back in Canada.
When people want to be funny/ stupid/ get my attention etc they say Bettan. It's an old, horrible NN for Elisabeth.

I generally go by my full name, Eimear. But friends/family often call me Eim/Eimy/Eimzy/Mimi as well. I wish more people called me Mimi, I love it. :)
I go by Eden, my mn, but I wish I went by Seda which would be a shorter shorm of my fn Sedalyn

I don't mind going by my nicknames. My family usually call me by Ash. And at school I'm known as either Ash, AshJay or A.J, sometimes by my fn Ashlee but mainly Ash, AshJay or A.J.
People just call me Ves (Vez). It doesn't bother me, really.

My friends call me Cerri but whenever my sister or anyody from my family call me that I get annoyed at them. I prefer them calling me Cerridwen. Same with people I really like, I prefer beeing called with my full name by them.
Nobody calls me with my mn Maya which I really love, but I don't mind not beeing called that. If somebody would I wouldn't complain :-)

My name is too short for a nickname. I actually did the opposite; I extended my name so that it's longer than what my parents gave me.

My friends and family call me Elle, at my own request. I don't like Elinor much at all. (My parents never pushed the issue. They called me Elinor from when I was born, but were happy to say Elle when I told them I preferred it.)
Some people decide to call me Elly, which I dislike, but not enough to say anything.
Very rarely people have tried Nell, and I hate that so much I will ask them not to, even if I seem rude. So far I've been spared Nellie. I think I would take a swing for someone if they dared Nellie - it's an elephant's name only!
