Sprite
Just ran across this name on Facebook and am actually really liking it (soft-drink association aside). Is it totally unusable? WDYT?*Note* It was a girl and her middle name is Esteem :)

I'm not sure if I think it's usable. Maybe as a nickname it'd be cute

I wonder if her parents just liked the way these words sounded or if they are meaningful in some way. I don't know, Sprite sounds cute but I would never ever use it and Esteem is just too silly.

It doesn't sound usable. Sorry.

I'm not keen.Might as well name a child Imp.

I don't think it is usable. It is too associated to the soft drink to me.

It would make an awesome camp name...but I don't think I would ever use it as a given name. The idea of it is adorable though, but her MN kind of ruins it for me. Sprite Daffodil or Sprite Meadow would have been better.

I used to watch the old Legend of Zelda cartoon when I was a kid, and the fairy's name was Sprite. That's what I think of :) I can't see it working on a human, though.

To me this sounds more like an animal name than a human one. It's very cute an cheerful but almost too much so and with the soft drink association that gets put over the top.

Sprite Esteem sounds stupid. Especially with the drink association, it sounds like her parents might have named her 'Fanta Love', 'Coca-cola Approval', 'Orangina Delight' if another cooperation had paid them more. You know how some people raise money with the gimmick of saying 'highest bidder gets to have their logo as my tattoo'... kind of thing? That's my first reaction.Nonetheless, without that association and minus the mn, Sprite is quite sweet in an odd way, but not my style. I just don't find it name material.. it would be an adorable nickname, but should remain just that. They should have given their child a proper name and just called her Sprite as a pet name. Ultimately she'd probably have thanked them for it.

It's...all right. Kind of lame, though.Sprite Esteem? Now that's REALLY lame. Cheesy, too.

Hmm, I don't like it. There is, as you mentioned, the soft-drink association and with Esteem it sounds silly. Are you sure it was their actual name? I know a few people who have used fake ones on FB, either for comedic effect or because it's a nickname.

In her bio she says her name is Sprite. Also when I typed Sprite Esteem into google a few youtube vids of her and her friends pop up. Annnnnd, her siblings names are River and Makristin

It seems way too silly and hippy to me. I wouldn't use it. It's the same for me as calling your kid Pixie or Fairy. I want my kids to have names that will look professional on a resume, that gives them options - Dr Sprite? President Sprite? No way.Sprite Esteem is pretty bad in my opinion.

See, I've always liked Pixie. Not sure why. Also, isn't there a successful lawyer named Cupcake Brown?
