Re: Opinions on Laurie?
I didn't used to be so keen on Laurie, but one married in to my family and then the baby of an other family member has Laurie as a middle name, and now I think it is quite pretty. This spelling makes a huge difference for me (over Lori, which I still don't like).
Veronica Laurie is lovely!Changing your name is a big decision. When I changed my name, I found my middle name harder than my first name because I'd already *been* a Lucy for 8 years when I decided on Lucia as a 'formal' name. My mn slot was open, I didn't feel attached to my original mn at all and had nothing to go on. I briefly toyed around with names that I thought would have been neat as a middle name but quickly decided to use my grandmother's name as my mn. I LOVE having her name as a part of mine, and I would have regretted it if I hadn't picked something with such significance to me (especially because my original mn was filler). I think, as long as you go with what your gut tells you, you will be happy with your decision in the long run. If you are still having qualms about Laurie but want to honour your mother, you could look in to alternatives and see if any of those click better- Laurel, Lauren, Laura, Lorenza?
Good luck!
