Yes, I think they ruined the perfectly adorable Maisie Jane. Daveigh is too kr8tyv like you said, especially because people will have no idea how to say it. I definitely was saying Davey until I read your pronunciation.
Hmmm, maybe there is more to this name though, could it be a real name?? It seems made up. The parents had good taste in their other name choices, maybe this was an honoring name that was created and the end result was just strange?? Who knows!

I love this name when pr. da-VAY. It's so cute, and I love that it means Beloved!
Great name!
Great name!
Sorry, but Daveigh is awful. I hate unnecessary -eigh endings, and the pronunciation is unclear. Davina or Davida nicknamed Davie (spelled however), like New_Chloe suggested, would have been so much better.
I'm going to be the lone dissenter and say that I can't stand the cutesiness of Maisie and combos like Maisie Jane. To me it's in the same vein as Ruby Mae, Poppy-Mai, etc. Eternally 5 years old. Imagine being in your 30's or 40's and being named Maisie Jane. No thanks.

Ok I will admit I find Davy or Davie on a girl to be an adorable concept, sure me. But I just can't get behind the "eigh" trend. It does nothing for me. If it had been Davina Maisie Jane or Davida Maisie Jane, nn Davy or Davie, I would be gaga for this. Like seriously bonkers for it.
Also yeah I would never have thought it was said "da-VEE".
congrats to them though!

I find it too cutesy, and it looks like a contrived feminized form of Davey.
Like Daveigh Chase?

That's my first association. I don't really care for it, I find the pronunciation odd (even though I still feel anything ending in eigh should be -ay, it never is, and this is the one name where it feels wrong) and it isnt even really attractive looking.
Maisie Jane is all right though.

I can't agree with you more.
